Installing Seasons in CFS ============Step 1 Get hold of Bill Potvin`s latest version of his Weather DLL. This can be found on his site http://www.cfsops.com/ under "Modules". Follow his installation instructions carefully and install the package. He has provided comprehensive and straightforward instructions that should cause no problems. Have a play around in CFS to see the new features available on the CFO menu. ============Step 2 Get hold of the full set of Winter Texture downloads from Misho Katulic`s Terrabuilder site at http://members.xoom.com/terrabuilder/ under Downloads and "Extended CFS Textures". Unzip all 8 downloads to your main CFS Texture folder. Browse in Explorer to your main CFS Texture folder and locate the file 010101w8.bmp and rename it to 080808w1.bmp Misho has changed the name of this single bitmap for reasons relating to use in Terrabuilder. If you are a Terrabuilder user and need to keep this file with the name set by Misho then make a copy of it and rename the copy to 080808w1.bmp ============Step 3 MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF THE CLASSLIST.BGL FILE LOCATED IN THE \SCENERY\ALL\SCENERY\ FOLDER SOMEWHERE SAFE SO YOU CAN RESTORE IT LATER IF REQUIRED Copy the classlist.bgl file in this package to this folder to overwrite the original file Packages Available :- season1.zip Landable Water All year season2.zip Non-Landable Water All year season3.zip Landable Water in Winter Only! That`s it! If all steps have been followed correctly then selecting "Time & Season" from the Cfo Menu in CFS will let you change the season and, if you change it to "Winter" the winter textures will be used. ===========Known Limitations The season changing will only affect the ground textures. Any addon scenery that puts textured polygons on the ground will appear the same in any season. "Airfield Construction Kit" sceneries should appear correctly in Winter as they use transparent backgrounds over the underlying ground textures Parts of the CFS scenery that are really "objects" like the White Cliffs of Dover will appear the same in all seasons (because they don`t use any of the ground textures) Surface Type of all textures (except Water with the non-landable water versions of the classlist) are set to "Bumpy Grass". This was done for simplicity but may be upgraded later. ================================ Martin Wright martin@mnwright.freeserve.co.uk http://fly.to/mwgfx/
